Check them out, registration is now open for all of our lessons and classes! Early Strings! This is a great way to introduce your child to the violin. Designed for 4 & 5 year olds, the lessons will teach violin and music basics in a fun and engaging way. The preschool and early school years are an ideal time to begin musical training; children are more motivated to play and learn. The charge for the lesson included violin rental, there will be an additional charge for books. Two students can also share the class and pay half the cost. |

Special Programs
Keyboard Festival Each Spring the Music Center hosts a Keyboard Festival for all central Minnesota piano students. Students have an opportunity to perform a memorized piece for a professional clinician who then gives them a short lesson and a written critique. The lesson also serves as a audition for the Honors Concert which is also part of the Festival. The 2010 Festival is April 16 and 17. Contact the Music Center for registration information. Recitals We schedule recitals four times a year: Halloween Recitals, Holiday Recitals, Winter Recitals and Spring Recitals. We encourage every student to participate in the recitals, performing is a part of learning to play an instrument. We offer several different times for the recitals, hoping to be able to fit into each families' schedule. If your child does not wish to participate, please bring them to one of the recitals so that they can see the process and see others perform. This may encourage them to perform at a later recital. Each recital is followed by a reception in honor of the performers. Spring Dance and Gymnastics Recitals Early each May we present all of our dancers and gymnasts in recitals at the Charles Martin Auditorium in the Little Falls Community High School. These recitals are fully costumed and are open to the public. Dancers will order costumes for the recital in late December. The gymnasts will order costumes in February. There will be an extra charge for the costumes, we do try to keep the prices as low as possible. Con Brio String Orchestra A string orchestra for beginning string students is held on Saturday mornings. Once again, this is for all string students in the area who are just beginning lessons and for more advanced students as well. This is a great opportunity to motivate young students to play and practice, the time spent playing together will be fun and relaxed. Led by Celo V'ec, the ensemble will meet every Saturday morning from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Sforzando String Orchestra All area bowed string students and artists are invited to become a part of The New String Ensemble. This group meets weekly to play music together and to enjoy the company of other string players. There is no age limit to the group, and you do not have to take private lessons at the Music Center to participate. Grants and donations allow us to offer this opportunity for free. Led by Celo V'ec, the ensemble meets every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9 p.m. U ROCK Summer Camp This program is designed for everyone who has always wanted to be in a band! "U Rock" is for guitarists, bass players, drummers, keyboards and vocalists. Other instruments such as violins are also welcome to apply. Students will learn the basics of being in a band; then everyone will be divided into their own bands. The conclusion of camp will be a great concert featuring all the students and the faculty! The types of bands formed will be based on the interest of each player - rock, pop, country, hip hop, anything is possible. Green Fair Folk Festival This non-political concert is a way of promoting peace in our homes, our schools, our communities and our world. Music is a universal language that brings us all together and helps form a base of common understanding. The Concert for Peace will celebrate music, peace, and community and will feature local musicians and choirs. People are invited to visit and sing along. |
